Project “Treasure Hunt”

Embarking on a journey through time and family history, our project "Treasure Hunt" began with a rare find—a 1976 CJ5 Jeep that had been tucked away since the early 1990s. What makes this restoration truly special is not just its vintage appeal, but the heartfelt connection it holds: it belonged to my father-in-law, making this restoration a tribute to his memory.

Stored on a humble sheltered dirt floor for years, this CJ5 has seen its share of hidden chapters until 2022, when we finally began the meticulous process of bringing it back to life. As proud ECU Pirates, my wife and I named this endeavor "Treasure Hunt," a fitting title for unearthing and preserving a piece of automotive history.

Each step has been a labor of love, aiming to revive the Jeep to its authentic 1976 glory. While there are a few final touches to perfect, our goal remains clear: to honor its heritage with period-correct updates and keep the spirit of "Treasure Hunt" alive for generations to come.
